This design idea was inspired by a customer’s suggestion and my own desire to counteract the negativity we sometimes hear about Romanians in the UK.

As a Romanian, I want to show that we are kind, hardworking, and friendly. We come here with hope in our hearts and determination to contribute, to grow, and to share our culture. At the same time, I wanted to honor the British people, who opened their doors and their hearts to us, embracing us as neighbors, colleagues, and friends.

In designing this, I reflected on the streets of our town—a town where Romanian voices mix with English ones, where the Romanian baker sells bread to a British family, and where a British teacher warmly encourages a Romanian child to dream big. It’s remarkable, really, how a place can transform when people choose to understand, support, and respect one another. Walking these streets, I’ve often thought about how challenging it must be for locals to hear their native language replaced by another, yet they show kindness and patience. They shop from us, learn from us, and, more importantly, they welcome us.

Every line and color in this design is a tribute to this shared journey. It’s a celebration of two cultures that, while different, find common ground in values like family, hard work, and community. It’s a message of gratitude for the British people who made space for us, and a call for pride in what Romanians bring to this shared space.

At its heart, this design is a reminder: unity, respect, and friendship are louder than any negative voices. Together, we are creating something beautiful—a story of togetherness that deserves to be told.
